Terms of Service

The rules for using Gigsouk’s job board, project marketplace, and company listings.

Summary of Core Principles:

1. Introduction

Welcome to Gigsouk. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our platform, which connects job seekers, companies, and startups through remote job listings, AI and freelance projects, talent profiles, and company listings.

2. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Gigsouk (“Gigsouk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), governing your access to and use of the Gigsouk website, job board, project marketplace, talent directory, and tools (collectively, the “Platform”).

By accessing, browsing, registering for an account, posting a listing, or applying to a job or project, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Platform.

You represent that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have full legal authority to enter into these Terms on behalf of yourself or the entity you represent.

3. Gigsouk Is a Platform, Not an Employer

Important notice. Gigsouk is strictly a technology platform that connects job seekers with companies and startups. We are not an employer, staffing agency, recruiter, or party to any employment, contracting, or freelance relationship formed between users.

Any offer, hire, contract, or payment arrangement resulting from a connection made on Gigsouk is agreed to and carried out directly between the job seeker and the company — Gigsouk is not a party to it and does not process employment payroll or freelance payments.

4. Accounts, Profiles & Company Listings

Job seekers may create a profile with their skills, experience, and portfolio to apply to jobs and propose on projects. Companies and startups may create a company profile and publish job and project listings. You agree to provide truthful, accurate, and current information, and you may only create a company listing if you are authorized to represent that business.

5. Job Seeker Safety & Scam Prevention

Legitimate employers never ask candidates to pay for a job, training, equipment, or a background check up front. If a listing or company asks you for money, gift cards, cryptocurrency, or your financial account details as part of a hiring process, do not pay — report it to us immediately at support@gigsouk.com.

Gigsouk does its best to moderate listings, but we cannot independently verify every company, job, or project posted to the Platform. You are responsible for exercising judgment and independently verifying any employer or client before sharing personal information, signing an agreement, or accepting payment terms.

6. Listing Accuracy & Moderation

Companies agree that job and project listings are truthful, currently open, and comply with applicable employment and labor laws, including anti-discrimination laws. Gigsouk reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject, edit, unpublish, or permanently remove any listing or profile that is fraudulent, discriminatory, misleading, or otherwise breaches these Terms.

7. Projects, Proposals & Hiring

Companies may post AI and freelance projects and review proposals from professionals; professionals may submit proposals and receive direct hiring requests. All negotiation of scope, rate, timeline, and payment terms for a project or freelance engagement happens directly between the company and the professional — Gigsouk does not mediate, escrow, or process these payments, and is not responsible for the outcome of any engagement.

8. Featured Placements & Advertising

Gigsouk offers one transparent, self-serve advertising product — the Featured Placement. Every featured listing is prominently labeled “Featured” and rendered in distinct styling; featured listings are never disguised as organic results and paying for a placement has no effect on whether a listing is approved or moderated. Featured slots are capped across the Platform.

9. Prohibited Activities

You agree not to: post fraudulent, discriminatory, or fake job or project listings; request payment, fees, or financial information from job applicants as a condition of hiring; scrape, harvest, or crawl the Platform using bots or automated scripts without prior written permission; overload or interfere with platform infrastructure; misrepresent your identity or company affiliation; or use contact information obtained through the Platform for unsolicited bulk messaging.

10. Intellectual Property

The Gigsouk website, interface designs, codebase, logo, and proprietary compilations are the exclusive intellectual property of Gigsouk. Company names, logos, and content you submit remain your property; by posting, you grant Gigsouk a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and distribute it across the Platform for the purpose of operating the service.

11. Fees, Payments & Refunds

Job posting plans start at $19 for a single listing, with bundle pricing for multiple posts (currently $49 for 3, and $99 for 10 — see Pricing for the current price list). AI and freelance project listings are free during launch. The Featured Placement, our advertising product, is $599 per 30 days. Transactions are securely processed through a third-party payment provider; by purchasing, you authorize our payment processor to charge your specified payment method.

All sales are final. Because a featured placement is delivered immediately upon payment, it is non-refundable once live, unless required by applicable statutory consumer law. See our Refund and Cancellation Policy for details.

12. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

“As is” provision: The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express, implied, or statutory. Gigsouk does not warrant that any listing is accurate, current, or that using the Platform will result in employment, hires, or completed projects.

Exclusion of consequential damages: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Gigsouk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of income, profits, or opportunities — arising from your use of the Platform, any job or project listing, or any interaction with another user.

Cap on monetary liability: Our total aggregate liability arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the greater of one hundred US dollars ($100 USD) or the amount you paid Gigsouk in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Gigsouk, its officers, directors, and agents from any claims, damages, or costs (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: your use of the Platform; your violation of these Terms or any third-party right; any listing, profile, or content you submit; or any dispute, hiring decision, or engagement between you and another user contacted through the Platform.

14. Termination, Governing Law & Contact

We may terminate, suspend, or restrict your account immediately and without notice if you breach these Terms, post fraudulent listings, or engage in abusive behavior. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability — remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Gigsouk is legally registered. Before filing a formal legal claim, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute informally by contacting us first.

We may revise these Terms from time to time; continued use of Gigsouk after a material update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Questions about these Terms can be sent via our Contact page or reviewed alongside our Privacy Policy.
