This Privacy Policy outlines how Gigsouk (“Gigsouk,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, processes, stores, and protects personal information when you visit our website, create a job seeker or company account, post or apply to a listing, or otherwise use our services (the “Services”).

For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and relevant global data protection laws, Gigsouk acts as the data controller for the personal information processed through our platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect personal information across the following categories:

• Account & Authentication Data: Your name, email address, and authentication session data when you sign in.
• Job Seeker Profile Data: Skills, experience, portfolio links, and any resume, CV, or other profile information you choose to add.
• Company & Listing Data: Company name, website, description, logo, and the job or project listings a company publishes.
• Applications & Proposals: Job applications, project proposals, and messages exchanged between job seekers and companies through the Platform.
• Technical & Log Information: IP addresses, browser user agent strings, and device types, used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.

We use the data collected strictly for legitimate platform purposes:

• Operating and improving the job board, project marketplace, and talent directory.
• Matching job seekers to relevant listings and delivering applications and proposals to companies.
• Displaying company profiles and job/project listings to prospective candidates.
• Delivering account, application, and hiring-request notifications.
• Enforcing our Terms of Service and preventing fraudulent listings, scraping, or abuse.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We share data only with vetted infrastructure partners and technical subprocessors strictly necessary to operate Gigsouk, including cloud hosting, database storage, file storage for resumes and portfolio files, and a payment provider for processing Featured Placement purchases. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

Gigsouk uses a minimal, first-party session cookie to keep you signed in securely. We don’t use this cookie for advertising or cross-site tracking.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Services and comply with statutory obligations. Active accounts and profiles are retained until you request deletion; job and project listings are retained for as long as they remain published or as needed for record-keeping.

We implement industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or alteration, including encryption of web traffic in transit and encryption of data at rest.

9. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)

Depending on your location, you may have specific statutory rights concerning your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your data. Under the CCPA/CPRA, Gigsouk does not “sell” or “share” personal data as those terms are defined.

Gigsouk is intended strictly for job seekers and businesses of working age. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will promptly delete such records.

11. International Data Transfers

Gigsouk operates globally and utilizes distributed cloud infrastructure. If you access the Services from outside the country where our infrastructure is hosted, your information will be transferred and processed in jurisdictions that may have different data protection laws. We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information consistent with this Policy wherever it is processed.
