About
World Foundation, established in 2023 to steward World (formerly Worldcoin) alongside Tools for Humanity, oversees World ID, World Chain and community governance for proof-of-personhood. The Foundation, headquartered in the Cayman Islands with contributors across San Francisco and Berlin, administers grants, orb operator programs and ecosystem incentives independent of Tools for Humanity's hardware and app development. Its mission centers on providing verifiable human identity via the Orb while preserving privacy through zero-knowledge proofs and open research. The Foundation coordinates open development, privacy reviews and global distribution logistics. Backed by ecosystem endowment, it focuses on inclusive access and decentralization over commercial product. The Foundation stewards orb manufacturing, operator incentives and open privacy research that ensure distribution scales without centralizing biometric control. Expect a mission-driven culture that values privacy engineering, thoughtful rollout and building credible neutral infrastructure for human verification.
