About
Stargate Foundation, established in 2022 to steward Stargate, the omnichain liquidity transport protocol originally built by LayerZero Labs, supports unified liquidity and native asset bridging. Stargate provides unified liquidity pools, guaranteed finality and native-asset swaps built on LayerZero messaging that lets DeFi apps move tokens between Ethereum, BNB Chain, Avalanche and 30+ networks without wrapped intermediaries. Initially spun out as an independent DAO with STG token and later reacquired by the LayerZero Foundation in 2025 for $110M, the protocol emphasizes capital efficiency, composable cross-chain building blocks and audited transport. Headquartered with a distributed global team, the Foundation administers grants, security reviews and community programs while collaborating closely with LayerZero Labs. Expect an ecosystem-focused culture centered on bridging reliability, open collaboration and expanding practical liquidity rails for omnichain developers.
