About
Shakepay, founded in 2015 by Jean Amiouny and Roy Breidi in Montreal, operates Canada's leading consumer crypto app for buying, selling and paying with bitcoin and ether. Its products include Shakepay Wallet, recurring buys, bill pay, peer transfers and the Shakepay Card that lets users spend crypto balances at merchants with e-Transfer rails for CAD funding. Headquartered in Montreal with hubs in Toronto and remote across Canada, Shakepay emphasizes simple mobile UX, customer education and compliance under Canadian FINTRAC oversight rather than complex derivatives. Serving a broad retail base, the company navigates evolving regulation with a trust-first approach. Backed by growth capital, it focuses on reliable funding rails and support. Expect a customer-centric culture that values clarity, regulatory craft and expanding accessible, everyday crypto use for Canadians.
