About
Parity Technologies, founded in 2015 by Gavin Wood, Jutta Steiner and colleagues in Berlin and London, builds foundational blockchain infrastructure including Substrate and Polkadot. Substrate provides a modular framework for launching custom chains with shared security via Polkadot's relay chain, while Parity maintains Ethereum client heritage and ink! smart contracts. Headquartered across Berlin and London with a globally distributed engineering team, Parity stewards open-source development, audit tooling and research on consensus and interoperability. The company emphasizes Rust engineering, formal reasoning and developer autonomy for sovereign chains. Backed by ecosystem endowment, it focuses on long-term protocol resilience over custodial products. Its client maintenance, tooling audits and fellowship grants help chain builders maintain upgradable runtimes and interoperable bridges with formal verification. Expect an engineering-heavy culture that prizes protocol correctness, open-source stewardship and empowering builders to launch resilient, interoperable blockchain networks.
