About
Optimism, founded in 2019 as Optimism PBC by Jinglan Wang, Karl Floersch, Ben Jones and Kevin Ho in New York, builds the Optimism Collective and OP Stack for Ethereum scaling. Its flagship chain OP Mainnet is an EVM-equivalent optimistic rollup, complemented by the Superchain vision of interoperable rollups sharing sequencing and governance via the OP token and RetroFunding. Developer tooling emphasizes simple migration, low fees and Ethereum alignment with fraud-proof security. Backed by leading investors and stewarded as a public goods experiment with open governance, Optimism serves developers launching DeFi, social and enterprise rollups. Headquartered in New York with a globally distributed collective, the team includes protocol researchers worldwide. Expect a values-driven culture that values public goods funding, governance experimentation and building scalable Ethereum infrastructure with long-term optimism.
