About
Offchain Labs, founded in 2018 in Princeton by Ed Felten, Steven Goldfeder and Harry Kalodner, builds Arbitrum, the leading Ethereum layer-2 scaling suite including Arbitrum One and Nova. Originating from Princeton research on optimistic rollups and fraud proofs, Arbitrum secures significant total value and powers much of layer-2 decentralized finance activity with low fees and Ethereum settlement. The company licenses technology from Princeton, employs rigorous systems engineering and ecosystem grants to expand developer adoption across custom Orbit Chains. Headquartered in Princeton and New York with remote colleagues, Offchain is backed by leading investors including Lightspeed and Pantera. The team blends academic rigor, distributed systems expertise and ecosystem growth to scale Ethereum without compromising security or developer experience for builders globally today.
