About
Nascent, founded in 2020 by Dan Elitzer and a small team in the US with offices in New York and San Francisco, operates as a crypto venture fund and builder collective that combines early-stage investing with technical building. The firm backs founders across DeFi, infrastructure and AI while contributing code, mechanism design and protocol research hands-on as a venture builder rather than a passive allocator. Headquartered with a distributed partnership across the US, Nascent emphasizes deep diligence, founder alignment and open-source contributions to portfolio projects. The team blends investing, engineering and cryptography expertise to support launches from research through mainnet and governance. Expect an intellectually curious culture that values builder empathy, rigorous evaluation and rolling up sleeves alongside founders to tackle hard technical problems.
