About
Matter Labs, founded in December 2018 by Alex Gluchowski and Alexandr Vlasov in Berlin, develops ZKsync, the ZK-rollup ecosystem for Ethereum scaling. Its flagship ZKsync Era uses zero-knowledge proofs for validity-based settlement, account abstraction and low gas fees, complemented by ZK Stack for builders launching custom ZK chains and Prividium for enterprise privacy. The team emphasizes open-source development, proof system advances and EVM compatibility for easy migration. Headquartered in Berlin with hubs in New York and globally remote, Matter Labs is backed by leading investors and supports millions through ecosystem wallets and apps. The company works closely with researchers on recursive proofs and prover efficiency. Expect an engineering-heavy culture focused on cryptographic excellence, developer experience and scaling Ethereum without compromising security or user self-custody.
