About
Hyperliquid Labs, founded in 2022 by Jeff Yan and a team of Harvard, Citadel and Hudson River Trading alumni in San Francisco and New York, builds Hyperliquid, a high-performance on-chain perpetuals exchange on its own Layer 1. The venue combines an off-chain orderbook for low latency with on-chain settlement, vaults and native HIP tokens, targeting professional traders seeking deep liquidity and transparent funding. Headquartered with a distributed team across the US, Hyperliquid Labs emphasizes performance engineering, risk engine correctness and self-custody without centralized intermediaries. The product has gained rapid adoption among perpetuals traders for speed and fee efficiency. The exchange operates vaults, liquidations and transparent fee schedules that reward market makers while maintaining self-custody and on-chain verifiability for participants. Expect a performance-obsessed culture that values exchange-grade reliability, market microstructure understanding and iterating quickly on trading UX under real orderflow.
