About
Gauntlet, founded in 2018 by Tarun Chitra, a former D. E. Shaw researcher, with Rei Chiang and John Morrow in New York, provides quantitative risk management and optimization for DeFi protocols. Its simulation platform models market, liquidity and liquidation risk to recommend parameter changes for lenders including Aave, Compound and Uniswap, protecting billions in TVL with data-driven proposals. Using agent-based simulations and formal methods, Gauntlet acts as an independent risk partner for DAOs and foundations. Headquartered in New York with a distributed research team, Gauntlet is backed by leading investors including Paradigm and Ribbit. The team blends finance, engineering and data science. Expect an analytical culture that prizes rigorous modeling, clear communication with governance communities and accountable stewardship of protocol risk.
