About
Eclipse, founded in 2022 by Neel Somani and Vijay Chetty and headquartered in San Francisco, is Ethereum's first Layer 2 powered by the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM). Eclipse combines the high-throughput execution speed and parallel processing of Solana with the deep liquidity, settlement security and decentralization of Ethereum, using Celestia for modular data availability and RISC Zero for ZK fraud proofs. Backed by Tribe Capital, Hack VC and Polychain, Eclipse provides developers with sub-second finality and micro-cent transaction fees for consumer dApps and DeFi. The team values systems performance, distributed architecture and bridges the best of the Ethereum and Solana ecosystems.
