About
CoinGecko, founded in 2014 by TM Lee and Bobby Ong in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, operates the largest independent crypto data aggregator for prices, volumes and on-chain metrics. Its platform tracks millions of coins across 900+ exchanges, plus DeFi, NFT, derivatives and portfolio tools that serve consumers, institutions and media referencing its data daily. Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur with hubs in Singapore and globally distributed, CoinGecko emphasizes neutral methodology, thorough research reports and API access for apps rather than custody or trading venues. Bootstrapped and independently operated, the company prioritizes transparency and coverage breadth over token issuance. Backed by data partnerships, it serves a broad research audience. Expect a data-driven, research-focused culture that values accuracy, editorial independence and building trusted, accessible market information for the global crypto community.
