About
Ava Labs, founded in 2018 by Emin Gün Sirer, Kevin Sekniqi and Maofan Ted Yin at Cornell and headquartered in Brooklyn and New York, is the core developer of Avalanche. The platform uses Snowman consensus for sub-second finality and high throughput, powering a primary network with distinct X, P and C chains and customizable L1s formerly called subnets for enterprise and gaming deployments. Ava Labs builds developer tooling, bridging and institutional solutions including Avalanche Vista and AvaCloud for managed chains. Backed by leading investors and serving millions through ecosystem wallets and DeFi apps, Avalanche emphasizes low fees, EVM compatibility and scalability without sacrificing decentralization. Expect an engineering-heavy culture that values distributed systems research, ecosystem support and shipping performant chain infrastructure with academic rigor.
