About
Aave Labs, founded in 2017 by Stani Kulechov in London and Helsinki, develops the Aave protocol, one of DeFi's largest liquidity markets for borrowing and lending. Its products include Aave v3 with cross-chain portals, efficiency modes and GHO stablecoin, plus Lens-adjacent social experiments and developer tooling for risk management. The protocol secures significant on-chain liquidity across Ethereum and L2s via pool reserves, interest rate models and safety modules governed by AAVE holders. Headquartered across London, Helsinki and New York with a distributed team, Aave Labs blends protocol research, auditing discipline and community governance. Backed by leading investors, it stewards open-source development and ecosystem grants. Expect a mechanism-design-focused culture that values risk modeling, clear governance communication and steadily improving trustless lending infrastructure for global users.
